Beautiful pair of matching Antique English Victorian Burr Walnut Ormolu Gilt Pier Cabinets.

Here we have a beautiful pair of matching, antique English Victorian burr walnut ormolu gilt pier cabinets, dating back to around 1870, which are in excellent original condition for their time. These original ormolu cabinets have stunning decorative frieze inlaid stylised flower marquetry to the center top and the side of the lock. The splendid quality cabinets boast the original brass ormolu mounts flanking the upper and lower sections. There is elegant gilt beading to the perimeter of the ebonized canopy and the doors boast the original hand-drawn glass, which is rare to see, with the working locks and keys. The interiors have a green fabric with two fixed shelves.

This lovely cabinet sits on elegant, turned ebonized feet and boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic color and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received, and is in excellent condition for its time.
