Antique George III Figured Mahogany Desk - Circa 1780

Here we have an original George III crossbanded mahogany kneehole desk of small proportions fitted with a single long dovetail drawer and three further drawers to each pedestal, with ornate brass fret drop handles, and comes with the working keys intact. To the back of the kneehole is a lovely little cupboard, complete with a shelf inside, with its original lock and key.
The Georgian desk is solid and sturdy and terminates upon rather lovely pedestal bracket feet. .
The very well proportioned and elegant desk would fit in most spaces, and would look fantastic in a country cottage and is ideal in any period office/study or could even be used in a bedroom as a small dressing table. The drawers are ideal for storing laptops, paperwork and other home office oddments with the bonus of being able to lock all of the drawers.
The antique desk is aesthetically pleasing to the eye, with its beautiful aged patina and stunning figured mahogany with warm golden hues throughout, maintaining its original polish and finish, which is a rarity.

Condition: This antique desk dates back tot he late 1700's , is in great condition for its age as shown by the photographs; however, being an antique item of this age there may be minor blemishes here and there which we feel adds to its originality and heritage of the piece.
The locks and keys are old so they do not lock as smoothly as a new lock would.
