Original Early Victorian Pine Welsh Provincial Dresser <br> <br> Dimensions: Height 191 cm x Width 142.5 x Depth 48.5<br> <br> Date: 1850 circa<br> <br> Origin: Welsh Provincial Joiner <br> <br> Description: Here we have a genuine early Victorian pine dresser of traditional farmhouse form, comprising a twin-drawer base over a double fielded, chamfered-panel cupboard with doors, featuring shaped side splash backs, with an open plate rack above.<br> <br> Constructed in solid Scots pine with hand-planed surfaces, pegged construction, nailed drawer construction, forged iron butt hinges, and its original hand-turned pine knobs. Retaining its original wax finish and keyhole escutcheons cut directly into the timber. <br> <br> This rare and authentic dresser boasts a stunning rustic, warm, aged patina and age-related marks consistent with mid-19th-century vernacular craftsmanship. And to make the dresser even more historically special, it still retains all its original hardware —a rarity these days.<br> <br> Condition: The authentic provincial dresser is in very good original condition for its age, circa 1850. The dresser still retains all of its original components: wax finish, turned pine knobs, wrought-iron hinges, and hand-cut fielded cupboard doors.<br> <br> The antique pine is solid throughout, with expected shrinkage lines/splits in the drawers and some long-dormant historic worm holes, and no structural weakness. <br> <br> The original wax finish is naturally worn and patinated, with signs of historical wear throughout. <br> <br> At the back of the dresser, the base has been reinforced with pine.
