This Magnificent, Scottish, heavily carved oak bureau is one of the most beautifully carved bureau I have had the pleasure to come across, having a carved date of 1703 it is certainly one of the oldest I have come across and is in fine condition for its time!
The fall front top and front of drawers have intricate, autumnal Scottish carvings of thistles, scrolls, acorns, and leaves. The fall front opens to reveal a fitted interior, with lots of drawers. . This beautiful chest is not just a statement but a part of history that still functions as intended with great storage below, having four long carved drawers with beautifully ornate brass handles, and escutcheons set upon carved bracket feet.

The Scottish Oak has a stunning aged patina, with beautiful caramel-brown hues throughout, such fine colours and patina throughout that can be only achieved with polish and age, and you can tell that this bureau has been cared for and much loved throughout its time.

This splendid bureau is by far the most beautiful one I've seen and an exceptional piece of furniture with an abundance of character, charm, and history

Condition: A very fine bureau and exceptional condition for its time, structurally solid and sound, incredibly no signs of woodworm!
