Description: A magnificent vintage Empire-style carved mahogany console table, finished in gold and surmounted by a substantial black marble top
An exceptionally decorative and impressive piece, with an elaborately carved six-leg base featuring classical and Neoclassical influences throughout.
The deep frieze is richly decorated with repeating geometric and floral motifs, scrolling acanthus-style ornament and a striking classical portrait medallion to the centre. Six beautifully carved legs, boasting intricate carving throughout, with ornate stretchers joining them at either end
The combination of the rich gold leaf and contrasting black marble gives this table a wonderfully opulent appearance.
A truly striking statement piece with tremendous presence, ideal for a grand entrance hall, drawing room, large hallway, boutique, hotel or other luxurious interior.
Condition
The table is solid, sturdy and substantial.
The black marble top has some surface marks and signs of previous use and would benefit from a polish to enhance its appearance.
