Important & Rare Georgian Intricately Carved Dresser

Height 195 cm x Height of dresser base 77 cm x Width 213 cm x Depth 51 cm

This impressive and rare carved oak Queen Anne dresser dates back to the early 1800s. This large antique dresser retains its original plank-backed plate rack, which features three shelves, and is flanked by two large, intricately carved cupboards.

The fine-quality Georgian dresser features a two-plank, moulded oak top, above a bank of three large, oak-lined, dovetailed drawers. The drawers boast its original brass drawer escutcheons & handles, along with their original brass lever working locks, with its original working key. Below, the dresser base features intricate carvings of foliage, supported by Queen Anne-style cabriole legs at the front and rear.

This special and important dresser has beautiful intricate carvings of foliage to the front drawers and cupboards, which is rare to see. This impressive dresser would certainly grace any home and is a great investment as well as being extremely functional.

The plate rack detaches from the base, making it easier to transport.

This outstanding and important dresser features a maker's mark, stamped with the initials RG, and was crafted using the traditional peg construction method.

The dresser features a wonderful, rich brown oak hue, boasting its original polish. It has a fantastic colour and patination, which can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received (which cannot be recreated).
