A rare and unusually large English antique iron bound oak boarded armourer’s chest of simple form typical of the period.
Beautiful delicate detailing on the oak sword chest, the early period chip-carved edges. The nails used are iron and hand-forged.
Note: If you look closely you can see the hand-carved decorative stenciling along the side and base.
A very special and unique historical piece.

Excellent old patina and superb colour and in very good overall state for an item some 400+ years old.
The candle box inside is absent as well as the key.
